Delete your Fixr account
In short
Open the app and tap Profile → Delete my account. If you no longer have the app, email support@hirefixr.com from your registered address and we will do it for you. Either way you get 30 days to change your mind, after which your personal data is permanently erased.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and needs no help from us.
- Open the Fixr app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account is marked for deletion straight away. Notifications stop immediately, and if you are an artisan you are taken offline so no further jobs reach you.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account on your behalf.

Subject: Account deletion request
Include: the email address on your Fixr account, and the phone number registered to it so we can confirm the request is genuinely yours.
Please send it from the email address registered to the account. If you cannot, we will ask you a few questions to verify your identity before deleting anything — we will not delete an account on the word of someone who cannot prove it is theirs.
We acknowledge requests within 3 business days and complete them within 30 days.
If you have a job in progress
Deletion cannot start while you have an active job, because money may be held in escrow and the other party has a live interest in it. Finish or cancel your open jobs first, then delete. If a job is stuck, email us and we will help you resolve it.
What happens to your data
Deleted permanently after 30 days
- Your name — replaced with "Deleted user"
- Your email address — replaced with a meaningless value that cannot be signed into
- Your phone number
- Your password, destroyed
- Your profile photo
- Your saved address and location
- Artisans: your government ID document, bio, bank account details and payout account
- Your device push token, cleared immediately rather than after 30 days
Kept, in a form that no longer identifies you
- Completed job records — so the customer or artisan you worked with keeps their own history.
- Ratings and reviews you left — removing them would distort other people's scores.
- Payment and escrow records — Nigerian tax and financial regulations require us to retain transaction records for a set period, even after an account closes.
None of these identify you once anonymisation has run.
Backups
Our database is backed up nightly and each backup is destroyed after 30 days. Your data may persist inside a backup for up to 30 days after deletion before it ages out. Backups are private and encrypted, and are only ever opened to recover from a disaster.
Changing your mind
During the 30-day window, simply sign back into the app. You will be offered the chance to cancel the deletion, and nothing will have been lost. After 30 days it cannot be undone — the data is gone, and we cannot recover it even if you ask.
Removing yourself from the waitlist
If you signed up to the waitlist on our website but never created an account, there is nothing to delete in the app. Email privacy@hirefixr.com and we will remove your entry.
